The Oak Bay Archives, established by the
Municipality of Oak Bay, serves as the central
repository of the community's archives.
The main objectives and purposes of the Oak Bay
Archives are:
to collect material of historical
significance to Oak Bay;
to appraise, preserve, arrange, describe and
safe keep all material deposited therein;
to make that material accessible to the
public for reference and research;
to increase public knowledge, understanding
and awareness of Oak Bay's heritage; and
to prevent loss of historically significant
material in order to provide an adequate and
accurate documentation of Oak Bay.
Location:
The Oak Bay Archives are located in the lower
floor of the Municipal Hall, 2167 Oak Bay Avenue,
Victoria, BC V8R 1G2
Hours of Operation:
The Oak Bay Archives office, which is run by
volunteers, is open as follows:
Tuesdays from 9:30 am until 12:00
noon and Thursdays from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, or
by appointment.
